Banco Bradesco, one of Brazil’s leading banking and financial services companies, released its new 2019 Integrated Report, representing a significant step forward in the company’s efforts on environmental, social and governance disclosures and reporting. The report presents the institutional, financial and sustainability information of the Organization in a single document, and offers a higher level of detail of information and indicators related to sustainability themes, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the aspects proposed by the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC).

In addition to including GRI reporting and IIRC reporting proposals, Bradesco’s new report details the alignment of the organizations main themes with sustainable development objectives, defined under the UN SDGs. These efforts refer to the 17 categories of sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by world leaders at the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit, with the aim to protect the planet and improve quality of life globally.

Specifically, in the report Bradesco aligns its operational 6 pillar strategy with multiple UN SDGs, including Gender Equality, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Reduced Inequalities, Climate Action, and Quality Education. The company chose to prioritize SDGs on the basis of a process that included a stakeholder survey, industry benchmarking, the company’s materiality matrix, and an assessment of the most pressing social and environmental issues facing Brazil.
