Morningstar Continues ESG Research Expansion With New Sustainability Research Head for EMEA and APAC
Morningstar is continuing its efforts to expand its reach in sustainability research, following the closing this month of the independent investment research firm’s landmark acquisition of ESG research and ratings firm Sustainalytics. Morningstar has now announced the appointment of Hortense Bioy to the newly created position of Director of Sustainability Research for Manager Research for the Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions.
Ms. Bioy has been with Morningstar for over 10 years, most recently in the role of Director of Passive Strategies and Sustainability Research, Europe. She has also held the positions of Director of ETFs, Europe, and Senior ETF analyst at the firm. Prior to joining Morningstar, Bioy was a TV presenter for Bloomberg News. In her new role, she will be responsible for driving and promoting Morningstar’s sustainable research across EMEA and APAC.

The company stated that Bioy will be based in be based in London and report to Ptak. She will also work closely with Jon Hale, Director of Sustainability Research for the Americas, based in the United States, ensuring the sustainability team has global coverage.
