Renault Sets New Carbon Neutral and Vehicle Electrification Targets

Automotive manufacturer Groupe Renault announced a series of new sustainability targets, including a commitment to achieve a zero CO2 impact by 2050 in Europe. The company announced the new commitment at the launch of its electric mobility event, Renault eWays, along with the introduction of two new electric vehicle models.

In addition to Renault’s new 2050 goal, the company also set an interim target to reduce its CO2 emissions by 50% by 2030, compared to 2010 levels. The company also announced goals related to the electrification of its products, aiming to have an electric or electrified version of all new models by 2022.

The new electric vehicles unveiled by Renault include the Renault Mégane eVision hatchback, and a small city car, the Dacia Spring Electric. The company also announced that it is extending its hybrid range with the introduction of three new vehicles, the New Arkana E-TECH Hybrid, Captur E-TECH Hybrid and New Mégane hatchback E-TECH Plug-In Hybrid. The new hybrids will be released in Europe in H1 2021.
